FAQ

Q: What is the Boozefighters Motorcycle Club ? Are you guys against drinkin’?
A: Not hardly, most of us enjoy it ! The name came about in 1946 when we first got started,Walt Porter suggested the name as the original members were “always fightin’ the booze (in other words, couldnt put it down) Our Founders consisted of WWII Vets who were bored with life back here stateside and a few locals. They raised a little hell, rode and partied hard. Some members raced. Today, we try to carry on that tradition. We are known as The Original Wild Ones.

Q: Whats the difference between your Motorcycle Club (M/C) and a 1 % M/C ?
A: We don’t claim territory, we don’t claim bars, we don’t get involved in 1% club politics or business. We DO respect 1% clubs and most of them have a mutual respect for our club.

Q: What is the difference between “bikers” I see at the local dealership and an M/C ?
A: Most “bikers” you see today are NOT BIKERS AT ALL ! (instant bikers at best) the guys you see tooling around are usually just “riders”. They consist of yuppies and rubs that enjoy riding 1 hour on the weekend to get a beer at the local bar and show off their squeaky clean bike that they just spent 4 hours polishing on, usually a twin cam that looks like all the others in the parking lot, except for the overpriced factory paint and costly dealer installed chrome. Hell, they might even ride to the local Harley Dealer where they financed their brand new leathers and twin cam to get 10% off a t-shirt with the dealer logo or a leather jacket with a stupid lookin’ orange stripe. Maybe a free hot dog & soft drink (They should get something free after paying 125$ for an oil change) They think because they ride a HD, they are a biker. But wait, there’s more !

Once a year they might trailer to Sturgis, then unload their bike and “ride like they are truly free”.. Kickstart a shovel ? Ride a Knuckle or a Triumph ? NEVER ! If it ain’t got an electric starter, if its not a new Softail or Road King, and its not sunny and 70, they ain’t ridin’. These are the guys that do the “wave” when they pass going the opposite direction, but don’t be deceived, they wont dare to stop and help anyone, particularly a “REAL BIKER”.

Q: What exactly is a Motorcycle Club ?
A: A MOTORCYCLE CLUB consists of men that understand true BROTHERHOOD and RESPECT. (search BIKER 101 on the web) We not only ride together, we party together, assist each other when the need arises, offer a place to stay for a brother passin’ through, provide food, drink as well as entertainment. We will lend a hand getting a brothers bike repaired or loan him one of our bikes. A REAL BIKER could be your best friend in a time of need. The M/C member RIDES his bike, rain or shine unlike the clowns that wear shorts and tennis shoes.

Q: Can anyone join the Boozefighters M/C ?
A: No. We do not seek to increase membership by handing out patches or becoming a “mail order” club. If you contact us with interest in joining we require that you meet us. If the club agrees, we may invite you to hang around (as a guest) and ride with us, attend some parties or rides and see what we are about. More importantly, we need to get to know you. After a period of time, if you fit in, the club members will meet and you may be invited to “prospect”. Prospecting is a probationary period in which you will learn respect and discover what true brotherhood is. It takes time, but anyone that is serious about joining, certainly has the patience to endure his test of time and the dedication to accomplish the required tasks asked of him. When and if the club members decide you are ready, trustworthy and dedicated, then you could become a “patch holder” or full member.

Q: Will I have to break the law or leave my family to become a member ?
A: Get a grip ! You will never be asked or expected to commit a crime or neglect your family.

Q: Will I be “jumped out” if I quit your motorcycle gang ?
A: Let me make this clear… Gangs generally consist of minorities with bizarre purpose and criminal intent. We, like most M/C s are a CLUB, legal and enjoying our God given rights, as protected by the Bill of Rights, to associate with those of like mind and desire. Our intent is to have a good time. Should a member decide he has not time or interest in the club, he is free to quit at any time.

Q: What if I just want to wear a patch and ride ?
A: Join H.O.G. or another Riding Club.
